I've been using dp8 since it's release, never an issue, but now it's crashing on startup,
I've tried disabling plugins, changing the audio input device, etc. I don't have the installation disk, I'm on the road with my MBP road rig, and have a few projects to get out for deadlines.
I'm using Kontakt virtual instruments mainly for kb overdubs, backing tracks, sax and vocal overdubs, for clients worldwide.
DP5 is working fine, but all my other projects are in dp8. I tried downloading the dp9 demo, but it's crashing upon startup also.
Any suggestions would be much help

Have you tried the usual? Repairing permissions, trashing preferences?

Yes, I've done all of that. strange that both dp8 and 9 would have similar crashes. makes me think it could be hardware, or mac related.

Is this happening with a particular project file or are you opening up DP by clicking on the program app itself?

Re: DP8 and DP9 Both Crashing, same crash report
Reinstall 8 and 9, repair Permissions and reboot.
This fixes the crash on startup more often than not. I have had this happen after OS upgrades and plugin installs. This has fixed the problem every time for me.
If it doesn't work, fire up Console. See what is a) trying to load and is failing (usually the Mackie HUI plugin) or b) what old crap is loading that shouldn't be on your system (2005 HP printer drivers in one instance).
The Mackie plugin is the usual culprit. I no longer check for it. I just reinstall DP and am done. Takes a minute after downloading.
