Thanks for posting:

"• The Track Selector now always shows which tracks are selected, even if the window is inactive." I'm not seeing this work.

"• Fix issues with trackpad scrolling and allow scrolling diagonally.". A big thing for some of us.

"• Fixed a graphics glitch with the leftmost fader in the mixing board." That was quick!!

Why did they change an existing theme? In DP8 they are light grey with with black text -- much easier to read.
Guess I'll have to learn how to edit that.
There will be a way to edit it - I will look into this myself in due course.

Thanks. What I discovered was to copy some .png files from another theme (Zen) to mine (Savannah). Didn't have to edit the .xml file at all. In this case:
  • kBigButtonIcon* (3 files)
    kOvalButtonIcon* (2 files)
The first ones take care of the dialog buttons (Done, Revert, etc.), the second ones the smaller push buttons (like Choose and Open in the themes dialog).
Would rather have spent that time making music though.

MasterWorks FET-76 . . . . . . . . Plug-in Guide PDF 46
The MasterWorks FET-76 is a detailed model of the 1176LN Limiting Amplifier, which was originally introduced in 1966. The original
1176 used FETs (Field Effect Transformers) to control audio gain reduction, and FET-76 provides the exact same controls, including the original’s All Buttons mode.

FWIW, FET stands for field-effect transistor, not transformer.

Nothing here that isn't in the website. Still, i'll check out the demo to see if there are any performance improvements. If I don't see anything in that arena, I'll wait...

Is MOTU shipping a hard copy manual with the DVD upgrade? And is there an extra cost for the manual? I eye-balled the MOTU site but it wasn't clear to me. I hope they're still printing the 1000 page book. The PDF is great when on my workstation but I like reading the manual away from my workstation. I read the DP8 book cover to cover.

I'd apprciate it if someone would give me a clear answer and not slam me for not getting the info from the MOTU site or emailing them.

Thanks brothas!

If you buy direct from MOTU, you get the manual for free. If you buy from Sweetwater, you may get the manual. It may cost extra. We're not sure yet.

My understanding is the manual/dvd is free, but you pay shipping cost (around $12)

Not from MOTU. Shipping is free.

Edit: I retracted this later in the thread, but, forgot that I could edit too. Ignore this. I accidentally ordered the download only.

I ordered the upgrade with the manual from MOTU yesterday.
The cheapest shipping option I saw & chose was UPS Ground to NYC, cost $10.22.

Well, I wouldn't underestimate the power of asking. Sometimes, the powers that be can empathize and cut you a little slack. (Especially if handled delicately).

I'm an idiot. I ordered the download version by mistake. Of course it said that the shipping was free.

That's what I get when purchasing in the3 midst of too much right brain activity.

The new software is working great though.
