Re: Yosemite: Is DP's 32 bit mode gone?
Finally got to checking this on my system. Get Info does have the 32 bit box towards the top and DP does launch in 32 bit (with the splash screen indicating as much).
One thing to try is deleting the plist for the app. Another is creating a new user account to see if there is something in your system preventing access to 32 bit in the Get Info file.
FWIW, I haven't run in 32 bit mode since moving to Snow Leopard. I have no reason to, and even if I did need 32 bit plugs, I'd use a bridge. I like having access to all my RAM and, as a result, my CPU hit on my older machine (2008 8-core) was significantly decreased. There is virtually no CPU hit n the new Mac Pro, regardless of what I throw at it. YMMV.

Re: Yosemite: Is DP's 32 bit mode gone?
Ok, I just wanted to check if it's something with DP or my system. I will try later this week, I'm in the middle of a project and better not to risk
Thanks!

Thanks!

If it is working on your project and not creating a problem, waiting is definitely a wise option.

When you do Get Info, there are arrow graphics on the left. If pointing to the right, the info is hidden. Click on the arrow – it will now point down and you will see the entire field.
I never boot DP 8 in 32bit. That is why I keep a copy of DP 7.24 installed.

Love DP 7.24. It always reminds me my projects at Berkleemikehalloran wrote:When you do Get Info, there are arrow graphics on the left. If pointing to the right, the info is hidden. Click on the arrow – it will now point down and you will see the entire field.

I took a screenshot, but I can't figure out how to post it on Motunation.
What it shows is this: my "Get Info" does not look the same as Shooshie's screenshot on the first page of this thread.
Mine is missing the 32bit option! It just has the "prevent app nap" field!
So something is wrong with my copy of DP or something is strange with my system!
Totally weird.

Re: Yosemite: Is DP's 32 bit mode gone?
That's correct. I had major problems last night with crashes and for some time before the 10.10.3 update. So bad last night I was ready to throw in the towel and down load the R-word... LOL. Reapplied the update and it's been peachy every since. One crash today but I clicked a bit fast and confused things. Still, like 1000% better now.

Re: Yosemite: Is DP's 32 bit mode gone?
ps - nothing special to do but I would throw out the plist, May not be all that necessary. Of course you want to repair permissions. Running Disk Verify wouldn't be a bad idea as well. If you want to do a good luck thing, you could also zap the PRAM.

I just noticed we don't know what version of OS X you're running. Do other apps show the 32 bit and app nap boxes?

Of course you need to click on the arrow, but he's saying that it's still missing. And mine is still not working.mikehalloran wrote:Any bets that I explained why eight posts up?beautypill wrote:I took a screenshot, but I can't figure out how to post it on Motunation.
