DP 4.5 and Yamaha 01V96

I am looking to purchase a Yamaha 01V96 as my front end to my DP rig. Obviously, fader automation will be a great enhancement, but has anybody actually tried to do this yet?
I'm wondering about the ability to use plug ins from the DP mixer, in conjunction with the built in plug ins on the 01V96.
I am also concerned about latency compared to my 828. Improvement? Has anyone tried hooking it up with a DV Camera as well?

ANY input is much appreciated, as neither MOTU, nor Yamaha have been any help.

I have an 01V/96 and Digital Performer 4.5. I have not been able to get them to work together yet. I'll try to keep you updated on what I find out. I am following the instructions in the book but still no luck. It works great with ProTools, I use the lightpipe out of the mixer to my 002R.

ok, not as intuitive as it should be but after yoou do this:

you got to the Control Surface Setup under the Setup menu and select HUI as the driver and the MIDI channel from the device you just created. then, what I did was go to the USER DEF tab of the UTILITY menu on the 01V96 and started assigning DP commands to the user defined keys.

so far I've tryed out: stop, play, rew, ff, rec, rec enable, scrub, and it al works fine, it't rather cool actually

by the way, I use dp's aux sends to the 01v96 via adat cable for use with the internal effects, and even though it actually works, there is some anoying latency issue :-S
