Clippings problem in DP 8.05

Post by jlaudon »

It seems when I highlight a few audio tracks from another project, then save to my clipping window, and drag into another project, the first 20 bars or so are empty, where there is supposed to be soundbites. Has anyone else noticed this?

My workaround is to merge from the beginning, then do the clipping, but it's not ideal.

I had weird stuff like this happen but prior to 8.05 already, lately they're gone though...

It's happening to me in 8.07 and is truly annoying. If I drag the clipping to the bottom of the tracks window, it creates a track, but there's nothing on it. These are clippings made from selected areas of tracks that had discrete soundbites on them from them having been split, or from having been built from several takes, not a single contiguous soundbite.

I guess I'll now have to try the merge workaround.

Its funny but I would never have thought of using clippings windows for this anyway - I would probably do an audio merge to make a separate audio file, name it and then just import it to another project - but I can't envisage doing that anyway so presume it must be a drum loop or something? Is the position the soundbite ends up in critical (say midway through a bar)? If not then the audio merged soundbite would be a better bet - although I admit that clippings is a function I under use.
