DP 8 crash on statrup (MW leveler )

Post by apanacci »

Hey guys, on startup DP8 crashes and it says it is MW leveler. It says to remove which I do and then it starts up fine. Anyone have that problem and if so how do I make it work again, thanks

Does it have a plist or preference file? Maybe a corrupt presets list?

Just tried inserting leveler on a track and it works fine, also tried quitting and re-launching and that worked fine too, so I don't think it's a bug. If you go to Preferences>Audio Plug-ins you can select Leveler and ask it to re-examine the file. Worth checking out IMHO.

I've used the leveler in DP8 as well. No problems.

+1

I'd pull these things out and make new prefs and lists just to see if that fixes things.

Usually, when I get an error that something won't load or that a MOTU plug is corrupt or missing, reinstalling DP 8 fixes the probem. I've had to do this 5 or 6 times, now.

The only time I had to trash Preferences was when I got the screen freeze before the wave form finished drawing (I now forget which old plug I was trying to make work-- it was so last week--but I renabled something and DP blew up). It's the first time in 17 years that I've ever done that--thanks to the threads where this fixed this issue for others.

Anyway, after trashing preferences and getting DP 8 working, the Trim plugin didn't load. Reinstalling DP 8.07 and repairing Permissions got me working again.

You know, I get that as well sometimes, but it's intermittent. Something $hit loads and sometimes it don't. I do believe DP is due for an upgrade but not being in the beta loop I can't know when. It is definitely due for one.

Dave?

Dave's not here. It's effen Xmas, dude! Whaddayawant? LOL

Merry Christmas! Hoe ho ho...
