plugin latency compensation broken here

Post by tiger vomitt »

hello all

DP will no longer line up tracks or busses to adjust for plugin latency.

it is happening with all my plugins (UAD's, waves, PSP). it is also happening on both drives that i have DP installed on. IOW it will happen regardless of what startup drive i use (i keep 2 different drives, both using DP4.52/ OSX3.5).

my setup is as follows:
DP 4.52 (also happened with 4.61)
UAD 4.0 (also happens with 3.9)
Mac OSX 10.3.5
2408mk2 / PCI-324 card (yes i know it is outdated but it has worked for many years, even in OSX)

i have tried to fix this by:

-trashing MOTU/DP prefs
-rebooting 2408
-deleting 4.61 from my system
-reintalling DP 4.52
-toggling the "Auto Plugin Latency Comp" dialog in studio setup (for a while this would fix latency comp when it would stop working in the middle of working on a song. so i would open up studio setting, turn off the checkbox then turn it back on, close it out and then latency comp would work again. except this no longer does the trick)
-reseating the PCI-324 card

anyone have any thoughts?

I have similar set up as yours, and everything works great.
Why not upgrade to OS 10.3.9. It's free.

because it worked fine for a year and a half the way it was. it's only recently that things have gone bad. but i do appreciate the suggestion and may in fact try it.
