Last person on earth still using 4.12?

Post by JeffWeir »

Hello everyone!

I am new to this forum, and have been using DP 4.12 faithfully on my old iBook running 10.3.

Transferred a project to my new dual G5 running 10.4, and the project crashes when the "play" button is pressed.

Tried the Firewire update (for my 896), and the MAS update.

Do I HAVE to spend the $150 for DP 4.5???

Thanks in advance for your help,
Jeff

10.4 requires DP 4.52 minimum.
Motu mentioned that on there website.

They mention 4.6 in this link
but 4.52 works fine.
So yes you have to pony up 150 bucks

You won't be sorry by upgrading. Technically you would be upgrading to DP 4.61, which has a ton of new features that were not in DP 4.12, such as melodyne-like pitch correction, the Masterworks EQ, and V-racks.

No, you're not the last person on Earth still using DP 4.12.

I'm a firm believer in "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." I may need to fix it soon, but for now....

With 4.6 I get better track counts, better stability and the
pitch automation which is really wonderful -

I was reluctant but it's been worth it.

me too - still on 4.12 and rock steady p when I upgraded to the next version at the time I had maybe 50 major issues and sent them to tech with not even a thank you and then they said they never checked into the problems - so it was very disillusioning for me. I am happy I satyed but will have to upgrade when I get a new PB. OUCH!!!!

Chalk up another 4.12. The only feature of 4.5 and greater that I would like, use, or need is latency compensation for busses, but for now 4.12 is working too well to muck with.
