UAD ver. 6.51/6.52 preset names?

Anyone else having this problem? UAD plugins 6.51 and 6.52 are not remembering the preset names in DP 7.24 on a Mac with OS 10.68. Presets names are remembered as long as a project is kept open. After closing and reopening a project the preset name will switch to "default", the settings on the plugin itself do not change. I have just sent UA an email regarding this issue.

I'm not on that system or DP version anymore.. but my advice is to reinstall the UAD software, repair permissions, and restart, in that order.

I had a strange thing happen when I installed UAD 6.5.1. It is as though it didn't. DP did not do a scan afterwards. I reinstalled, and all was well.

Thanks for your reply Killahurtz. Tried reinstall and repair permissions, still no go. I will try the uninstall procedure on the UA website next. Have not heard back from UA yet.

I have found out that this "preset name" problem occurs in Logic 9.18 as well. Is there no one with similar system specs experiencing this problem with UAD 2 Ver. 6.52? I'd hate to be the only one.

Judging by the overwhelming silence, no one else is having this problem. Have done the uninstall reinstall as per the UA website, still no joy. Oddly DP did not scan the plugins after reinstalling, but Logic did. This must be some problem with my system as it is happening with both programs. Anyone have any ideas? Still waiting to hear back from UA.

Rroy, did you ever get resolution on the UAD preset name plugin issue? I'm experiencing the same issue with UAD version 7.1 software. I've emailed UAD several times and so far no response...

robsoul, never got the UAD "preset name" problem resolved. I thought moving to DP 8 might fix it, but no. I did get replies from UAD, but no solutions. I wonder what our systems might have in common that could be causing this.

It seems that this is a known "bug" for some DP and Logic users. I have Logic 9 and X as well and have the exact same issue. Even if I create my own user default setting the name still reverts to the UAD default name. I can see it happen live - the saved new preset is listed then it gets replaced by the UAD default. I worked with a UAD tech over the phone and we did a complete uninstall and reinstall without any success. He said that he will bump this issue up and hopefully it will be addressed in a new update.

Check out my signature below for my setup. I recently migrated to the Mac Pro from an old mini. I wonder if that has something to do with it, though I'd rather not do a complete reinstall of my computer...

I keep hoping a UAD2 update will fix the problem. Up to 7.2 now and still not working right. Time to contact UAD again.

It may have been asked before, but did you save your UAD settings as
Digital Performer User Settings? Or as UAD user presets (within the plugin's GUI "Save" dialog box).

UAD is up to 7.1 version now, you should upgrade to that, for starters.

I save all my settings as DP User Settings, and not as plug-in or VI presets. I've never had a problem recalling my user settings for UAD plugs.

I've tried saving presets both ways - saving only in UAD and in DP (and Logic). I also did this while on the phone with UAD and we went through multiple variations of saving presets, clearing preset folders, etc after reinstalling and repairing permissions.

I bought my Apollo a few weeks ago with v7.1 and upgraded to v7.2 when it came out...but still no luck.

This has been going on forever and I am still having this problem as well with the latest updates UAD 7.8 and DP8.06 . I reopen a project and the UAD plugin name that was saved reverts to default .I love their plugins but This is a PIA if you want to go back to where you started on a preset to tweak it. I just got off the phone with UA and they said this is on DP's end and that the plugin name info is part of DP. DP isn't officially supported with UA and no one there has DP to test . They also said they really don't get many calls from DP users as they mostly deal with PT, Logic , and Cubase. Anyone else still have this issue or have a solution ?
If so also give UA a call so maybe they will take it seriously as well.

Yes it is still happening here. I thought after getting a newer Mac Pro, moving to Mountain Lion and updating to the latest version of UAD2 software the problem would go away. Not so. Odd that it worked for so long before messing up. I guess it's time to bug UAD, and by the sounds of it Motu as well.
