Mach Five donagle ilok for two computer systems?

Post by zionminstrel »

My partner and I recently purchased Mach Five and were going to install it on both the studio Mac and the traveling mac (take home work, multiple sessions, etc.). Is there a way to have Mach Five opperating on both computers but at different locations (i.e.- I have a session in the studio and he's trying to do production work at home) without having to sink another three-and-a-half bills for a second Mach Five program? We just got the program in the mail yesterday and haven't even looked at the instruction manual or had a chance to load it into either sytem at this point, but when I saw the donagle key, my heart sank.

You can run Mach5 at the same time on both machines..you just have to switch out the iLok. Once it's auth'd by the iLok, it doesn't need it. YHou just have to hope you don't crash on one of the machines running Mach5 w/o the iLok.

Every time you load DP it will search for your iLok, so as long as you never quit DP, then yes you can use it on two diff computers in two locations once you launch DP with the iLok plugged in.

We went through this ourselves, even phoned Motu about purchasing a secong iLok. They said you have to buy another copy of Mach Five, which we eventually did. There was no mutil user version of Mach Five when we went through this(not sure about now).

What if your iLok fails and you want a back-up on hand you ask?? I won't even go there.
