Korg Nanokontrol 2 MIDI CC Mode not working in DP

Hello,

I recently purchased a Korg Nanokontrol 2 and am having a hell of a time getting Digital Performer to recognize it in MIDI CC mode. It works fine in HUI mode for mixing, but I'd like to use it to control plugin parameters.

In another post on this board, I found these instructions:

Mixing Board, instantiate Motu: Wah Pedal in an audio, aux or instrument track insert.
For testing, while passing audio through the track, drag up and down on the rocker to modulate the filter.

Set Sweep Control to MIDI

Set Pedal CC to desired Continuous Controller. It's important for Pedal CC # to match the CC # generated by a particular Nano knob or fader.

Add and Record Enable a MIDI track. Depending on the project's Multi Record setting you might need to set the track input to NanoKontrol. I'm pretty sure if a NanoKontrol 2 is set to emulate Mackie Control it won't generate the CC values needed to modulate Wah Pedal.

Set this MIDI track's output to Wah Pedal.

Play sequence, move desired Nano Knob - rocker and Pedal Position should both move and change the track's timbre.

Tried this, but nothing is happening. Nanokontrol is in MIDI CC mode. Nanokontrol input is record enabled and routed to the Wah Plugin. MIDI CC # is set appropriately. DP MIDI Monitor is showing activity from the Nanokontrol, but nothing is happening. Tried this same technique with several other plugins without success. Anybody have insight into what's going on here?

The track the pedal is on needs a valid output.

Studio Setup / Input Filter could be filtering the CC you're using.

How are you checking what CC the Nano is Sending? MIDImonitor is pretty handy. The default on slider 1 is bank select, CC0 - there's no setting on Pedal CC # for this number.

Thanks for the suggestions. I seem to have it working now. The only annoyance is that I can't switch back and forth between "MIDI CC" mode and "Control Surface/HUI" mode without restarting Digital Performer. Seems that switching to "Control Surface/HUI" mode during a session makes it so that Digital Performer can no longer respond to MIDI CC. The only solution is to quit and re-open DP. This means I can't easily toggle between mixing and working with soft-synths, which is kind of disappointing. Has anyone else found this to be the case?
