Does the demo of 8 restrict user effects saves?

My friend is trying out the 8 demo and realized he was restricted in storing user effects on his system. Also cannot play soundbite on click. Bundles are correct.

I can't check it out cause I'm in LA so would someone with 8 let me know it works ok.

Is there a reason why you can't download the demo?

Most of us won't know the answer. We spent the $ to get 64bit functionality and remove the memory cap. There are growing pains for 7.24 users with lots of 3rd party plugins but not like there were when 8 was first released. Tons of long threads on this - no reason to start another.

I have not heard of the issue that you described and know of no restrictions of the demo except that it times out after 30 days. There are many reasons your friend could be experiencing those problems beginning with failing to repair permissions after the install or not installing with admin privileges.

I did try the Windows demo. I don't recall anything that didn't work, but I didn't test absolutely every function.

Yea, what else can you do?

Tell him that, if he buys, MOTU has good support and he is welcome over here. Heck, we've even been known to help some in pre sales.
