I primarily work with DP on a Mac. I just finished working on my DP project for the university and I saved every couple of minutes or so (Command+S). My foot was by the cord beneath the desk, and I accidentally turned off the computer just as I saved the project.
When I restarted the computer and tried to open the file, I got this error message. "Unreadable data encountered while reading the file." When I asked my professor, he told me that I must have saved the file just as I shut off the computer. He thinks this resulted in creating a corrupted file.
The autosave was not activated in the preferences. Therefore, I have no way to use that option. Is there ANYTHING at all that I can do to recover my project? I put in about 15 hours of work into this fixed media 8 channel piece. My professor told me that it looks like I will have to do the work all over again. However, I would like to at least exhaust all of my options before I do so. If there is something I can do to fix it, I would love to try.
Please let me know if there is anything at all that I can do. I would greatly appreciate. My heart literally sank when I learned that the file no longer opened.
