Hey there folks,
I feel like I must be overlooking something basic here, but I can't understand what;
I have a track with audio that is only play-enabled in solo mode (and is muted the rest of the time). Most of the time this works as intended, but if I need to adjust the level of the track while it's playing, the track mutes the second I touch the fader. I have to manually re-enabled it to get it to play. I have some files where this happens, and other files where it doesn't, and I can't see any difference between them. Perhaps there's a preference somewhere that I'm missing?
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Mike

It almost sounds as if touching the fader sends a message to engage the mute button.
Have you made sure you don't have any controllers attached to the faders? If you right click on a problematic fader, what do you see in the contextual menu? Does it say something about "unattach" a controller?

Re: Solo'd track mutes itself?
Thanks for the reply. I do have an option to attach or unattach a MIDI controller, but doing so doesn't seem to impact the problem.
Also, to clarify, it isn't actually 'muting' the track, it's un-play-enabling while I'm in solo mode.
I've tried systematically removing each MIDI device to determine if something is sending or echoing something unintentionally, but no dice.
In a weird twist, this doesn't occur when I adjust the fader in the mix window. Only when I adjust it in the channel strip.

Re: Solo'd track mutes itself?
Just to follow up and close this one...we figured it out.
Apparently, this was being caused by the preference to "solo front-most MIDI edit window". Unchecking that preference resolved the problem. Not really sure how those two things are related, but it seems to be fixed.
Thanks!
Mike

Re: Solo'd track mutes itself?
Thanks for letting us know.
So you were bitten by one of DP's very useful features! This special solo mode is awesome because it acts like a completely new solo setup (i.e., you can solo stuff by what you see in each edit window, in addition to the other 2 regular modes).
Option-clicking the solo button in the counter takes you straight to the Preferences, so it can be quickly turned on or off in 3 quick moves.

Can you change fader and mute automation while in solo mode now?
