Problems Soloing Tracks
When I try to solo a track, all other tracks show as muted, but when I press play, various other tracks automatically become play-enabled. Is anyone else having this problem? How do I solve this?

Do you have automation embedded in the tracks?

There was a very similar problem for other new user in another thread, and I don't think he got any answers.
I thought there was some kind of automation going on, but not apparently.
Are you sure you are thoroughly familiar with the way Solo works in DP? Remember you basically have 3 different states of solo (the third one being "partial solo" for MIDI).
Soloing works fine here, FWIW.

Actually in the other thread (if it's the same one) I gave him the same answer and that turned out to be the case—there was automation in the tracks.
