I'm using the DP 8 demo but am having problems getting KeyCue to work with it - KeyCue displays the standard Mac menus but none of the DP menus or shortcuts. Can anyone suggest what what the problem might be as KeyCue works fine in my other apps? As you can guess, KeyCue would be very handy while getting to know DP

I can't solve this specific problem, but I did try KeyCue with DP 7 some time ago. It showed all the shortcuts that appear in the menus, but didn't help that much. DP has hundreds, if not thousands of keyboard shortcuts, almost all customizable, and most of these are not in the menus and so would not show up in KeyCue. It will be useful to open up the Command window that shows all of them using Shift-L and assign your frequently used functions to key commands you find convenient.
Thanks, I've just come across the Commands Window and it is indeed a great help.

No. I reported it to the developer who asked where he could download a demo of DP to investigate, but I never heard back. In the meantime, I've come to rely on the Commands window more.

Thanks Chris. On our main rigs it doesn't work, but on our laptop running mavericks and DP 8.0.4 it works fine. Of course, that doesn't help us in the production rooms.

Can I ask what you are using it for? What does it do that the Commands feature doesn't? Does it bring up all the mini menus? It didn't when I demoed it.
Hey Bays! Originally we installed it to get quite chart and access to all our macros (Kybd Maestro, ikey, etc) But because it not only shows you the commands but immediately lets you launch them, I wanted to try it for DP on our main rigs.
We do have printed out charts in front of all the stations for our mostly used DP hotkeys, but thought this would save some brain cells.

That's strange - I've not been able to get it to work on my old iMac or new MacBook Pro - both running Mavericks.
So far I've found that when it does work in an app, it just brings up the shortcuts from the top menu and any of its submenus. I don't use it a lot now but still find it useful for apps I don't use so much.
I'll maybe email the developer again to see if he got anywhere.

I am in communication with him too, so that would be great for him to hear more voices Chris.

Just did a cursory look thru the hundreds. LOL I don't see the mini menus but all the regular ones.

Got the key cue with DP8 issue fixed, thanks to brilliant support by "Gue", their tech support guy. He placed a special thing inside Keycues internal config to accommodate DP8.
I suspect you need to be running latest keycue version. Anyways....Here is what you do. I will paste his note directly below.
"If you have configured KeyCue such that its icon appears in the menu bar, right-click or ctrl-click the icon and select "Check for Updates…".
When the KeyCue icon is not visible, open KeyCue's Settings window and click the "Now" button in the "About KeyCue" tab.
In either case, KeyCue will tell you that your version is up-to-date. You can ignore this message. As a side effect of the version check, KeyCue also updates its internal configuration."

Brilliant, that works! Thanks so much for posting this - I'd not got round to contacting KeyCue support again. I need to get a bigger screen now though to see all DP's key commands
