Question about volume of a soundbite

Post by arnopolaris »

Hi guys,
i would like to know if there is a way in DP to adjust the volume of a soundbite when u listen to it in the arrangment by a long clic on it or in the soundbite list.
Volume is very strong when i do it and i am wondering if there is a way to adjust it to a lower volume.

The only thing that comes immediately to mind is to create a new output pair, put it at the top of the bundles list, and reduce the output level on that pair in the hardware somewhere. This is the pair that will be used for auditioning. This might create other problems depending on how your other routing and mix is set up.

But another question is why these particular soundbites are so loud, and why your general mix and output is also not so loud if these are the soundbites being used in the mix. What happens if you just drag one of these bites onto a track and play it? If it's not as loud, then maybe the level and routings in your mix are not set properly. If you fix that, you could reduce the general output levels to your monitors.

ok thanks for the help, i realize it was just depending on the volume of the master fader.. as it is set to 0db the volume of the auditionig samples was strong. i control the volume of the sequencer with a MIDI controller on the fader of a bus where all channels of the arrangment goes and is routed to the master. now i will assign the master fader, it doesnt change anything for me anyway. thanks guys
