I love the fact that you can temporarily group tracks together by holding down the letter "T." However, invoking the "suspend track grouping" command also disables your ability to use that "temporary grouping" functionality. This may make programming sense, but from the perspective of the user, I don't think it's the ideal choice. If I'm trying to temporarily group some tracks together (say, to change fader levels), then obviously I want those tracks to function as a group at that particular moment, whether or not I've suspended "permanent" track groups. I.e., the act of holding down the letter "T" should override the "suspend track grouping" command.
Would anyone else be interested in this?

Hold the 'T' key, then hold 'G' with it (which temporarily changes the state of group suspension).
But yeah... it would make total sense to have the T key override group suspension.

Thanks, Shooshie. Tim—thanks for the suggestion, but sadly, it's not a good workaround for me. If holding down "g" meant "always enable groups" then it would be great. But it doesn't—as you know, it simply toggles the current state of track group suspension. The problem I run into is that unless I have the Track Groups window open, I can never remember whether Groups are currently enabled or disabled. Holding down "t" should logically ALWAYS enable track groups, regardless of whether groups are suspended or not (otherwise, why am I holding down "t" in the first place?"). If I held down "g", half the time I'd end up unintentionally suspending groups, and nullify my holding down "t."
Anyway, I'm going to drop this in the suggestion box. If anyone cares to join me I'd appreciate it!
Thanks,
Peter

At least it should be an option in prefs where it either acts like it does now or overrides group suspend.plurye wrote:Thanks, Shooshie.
