I'm trying to open a DP7 project that was successfully recovered from a damaged G drive.
(I'm now using DP8.4 but also tried DP7.24.)
At first the "Project files" were not showing up as DP files they were "Unix Executable File".
I added ".dpdoc" to the file name and then in the "get info" window I selected DP8.04 as the App to open this file.
Clicking on the Project file would now launch DP8 but then I'd get the "Missing Sound Files" window with a list of the missing files.
I then select the files and hit locate but when I open the correct Audio Folder and try to load the audio files I get this:
"OS error:
Resource file was not found (-193).
The strange part is that the AIFF audio files of MIXES i have in the Audio Folder of this project import and open fine...but the Audio Files of my project are showing as "sd2" files.
I've tried opening individual files in iTunes and with Quicktime but no luck.
I've tried changing the end of the individual file names to ".wav" but no luck.
I had a couple other DP projects that were rescued from my bad drive that had the same "unix executable file" but once I added the ".dpdoc" to the file name and chose DP8 in the "get info" window, those projects opened fine....as the audio loaded...but it shows as ".wav" files.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Michael

Yes.Any ideas?
Are the projects on your boot drive or another?
If on another drive, do Get Info on the drive. and click on Ignore Ownership. Never do that to your boot drive.
if the files are on your boot drive, go to each project folder. Do Get Info and check to see if your admin account is one of the owners and if it has Read and Write privileges. Add your Admin account, change privileges for all to Read and Write, check Apply to enclosed items on the drop-down menu below, click yes if there's a pop-up warning.

Thanks for the help.
Unfortunately, all settings were already as you suggested. Still no luck.
I raised a little hell with the data recovery company. Letting them know I can't even open the audio files that I paid $1800 to rescue. They have a guy getting back to me Monday and are gonna look at the "file images"?
Appreciate the advice
