So - I click on a single MIDI note in a single MIDI track in the sequence editor (formerly known as the graphic editor back in the 80s and 90s if I recall correctly) so I can hear it sound. I click on it once and let go. It sounds as it's supposed to but as I move the mouse somewhere else it drags the note along even though I have let go of it. For it NOT to do this I have to wait a couple of seconds before moving the mouse. Must say after 25 years of not having to wait it's going to be hard to retrain the brain.
Anyone else experiencing this?
Anyone else noticing this annoying MIDI behavior?

That is odd, and would certainly be annoying. It's not happening on my system, though... Must be something local and repairable. So the good news is you won't have to totally retrain once you dig it out.

Could it be a problem with your mouse or trackpad? I'd try a different mouse.

Are you experiencing that behavior in any other windows or other apps? In Finder?
Might be worth throwing another input device on and seeing if it stops.
I'd agree that something odd is happening either with hardware or a driver, but haven't seen that particular gremlin here.

Re: Anyone else noticing this annoying MIDI behavior?
Thanks for the response folks! The mouse behaves normally in all other situations - it instantly lets go of everything when I release the mouse button. It's almost like it mimics the latency of the VIs when I'm not playing them live and have the buffer size up to let the computer breathe a bit. I'll test that theory by seeing if it does it on a regular MIDI to external MIDI device track.
