DP GUI not responding...
Blah, these types of problems are fun, hopefully someone has experienced this or can help..
So occasionally, seemingly randomly I get a situation where the GUI in DP does not respond to the mouse. Anytime I click the mouse I get that little beep you get when you have an open dialogue box that must be responded to, and no action. No windows closing, no movement on the GUI at all. The only thing to do at that point is to quit DP.
Has anyone else experienced this?

Re: DP GUI not responding...
One thing that occasionally causes that problem for me is an uncentered transition between spaces. That is, if you have just shifted to another space or desktop in the OS, and back to the original one, and if in the transition between them it fails to make it all the way back, then it leaves the entire screen ever-so-slightly off center.Michael Canavan wrote:Blah, these types of problems are fun, hopefully someone has experienced this or can help..

The fix for me is to jostle the space with my trackpad. I use a 4 finger swipe to jog it back and forth a little, and then it finishes centering.
Bayswater described it as being like a pitch-bend wheel that fails to bounce back to center. If you don't have a trackpad, invoke any command that involves spaces, and let the computer sort it out. Once it's centered, everything works again. Next time it happens to you, see if some command for changing spaces will get you back to normal.

Re: DP GUI not responding...
Just curious. If you have no mouse control, do you still have keyboard?
I'm assuming that you probably have to "Force Quit"?

Re: DP GUI not responding...
When this happens to me it is invariably a small dialog window waiting for a response, hidden behind a load of other windows.

Re: DP GUI not responding...
With me, it's usually because I've somehow entered the manual tempo field and as I unknowingly type it begins the beep as that field is expecting numbers and a decimal.
(Wish I knew how I was invoking this!)

Re: DP GUI not responding...
I'm still on 7.24, but when this happens and another window is not the culprit, clicking anywhere in the Finder and then back to DP usually resolves the issue, sometimes it takes a few tries.
