DP8 and 3rd Party Plugins Master Buss Mute Bug [SOLVED]
I have the DP8 Full demo and am pretty impressed so far. I haven't used DP since version 4 and a lot has changed for the better.
One thing is bugging me. The Demo is version 8.05 under Mac OS 10.8.5. If I put a 3rd party plugin on the master out, it doesn't matter which one, when I close and then reopen DP no audio will pass through the master. I have to remove the plugin and reinstate it and then it works again. 8.04 did not seem to do this. It's not a deal breaker but it is annoying.
I do mostly film/video projects and the chunks work great for that.
Anybody seeing this on their end?

I should point out that the same plugin on an instrument track or Aux behaves just fine. It's only on the Master out that I see this problem.

Re: DP8 and 3rd Party Plugins on Master Buss Mute sound
I may have found a good work around. If I create a AUX track and put my mastering plugins there and route all tracks to that instead of the master track, they seem to stay function from closing to reopening. We'll see tomorrow morning but it is working now!

Re: DP8 and 3rd Party Plugins on Master Buss Mute sound
No, still does the mute thing. Why just those last plugins?

Re: DP8 and 3rd Party Plugins on Master Buss Mute sound
Could you tell us exactly which plugs are behaving this way?
Also need your exact system specs - which computer, which O.S., which
audio/MIDI interface, etc.

Check to see that you are not automating the mute. I'd start by removing/disabling all automation. Also check that no mixer snapshots are causing the problem.
Something is likely muting the plug and those are the two likely culprits.

System specs iMac 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7/8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3/OS X 10.8.5
DP 8.05 Full Demo.
Any third Party plugin behaves this way, Waves, Softtube, Flux, It doesn't matter which one. It only happens on the master buss OR the Aux buss I have everything running into before it hits the master buss.
Here is the steps - Put a Leveling amp on the master buss and set the levels, in this case HOFA IQ Compressor. Everything is fine. Quit DP 8. Reopen DP 8 and open the session. Sometimes there I s a loud click after it finishes loading the sample. Push Play - No sound passes the Master buss. The meters are moving on all channels EXCEPT for the master. Remove the IQ Comp and everything plays fine.
Now I just tried it with the DP 8 built in effects - in this case PARA EQ and Dynamics COMP and it did the same thing! So it's not just 3rd party. But plugins on any instrument track or instrument buss do not behave this way. It started when I installed the 8.05 Demo. I don't remember seeing this on the 8.04 Demo.

I just trashed the preferences and that didn't help.

As MLC said, you need to call MOTU tech support. This is an issue specific
to your system. It simply isn't happening for anyone else here (that I know
of).

Re: DP8 and 3rd Party Plugins on Master Buss Mute sound
I was on the phone for an hour today waiting for support and gave up as I had to leave. I'll try early Monday.
Thanks for the input. There are a few other issues turning up as well. Wish I would have stayed at 8.04. But then I would have had to go to 8.05 for the final upgrade.

An hour? That's also atypical. Were you on hold that long, with an agent, or listening to the ring?

I was on hold for the next available agent. Speaker phone but still... that was a long time. I can't submit a Tech Ticket because DP8 is a demo and it only sees my 4.5 version.
