A high latency in deferred procedure calls can cause pops and clicks. Grab DPC Latency Checker from http://www.thesycon.de/deu/latency_check.shtmland let us know your results.
Some new motherboards have utilities that can generate excessive DPCs, case in point is Asus Ai Suite.

Re: PCIe-424 + HD192 pops/cracks
Problem is solved now.
It was - like I expected - a hardware failure of the HD192.
The german distributor exchanged the unit (thx to Michael Voss) and the problems are gone.
Thanks for looking into this guys. And thx to torrentg for your suggestions - though they were more like overall PC update suggestions and didnt point specifically to my problem. But it was good anyway!
Let me say one thing about Motu.
I still have the feel that Motu isnt realy interested in the PC guys.
When all that the Moderator of the official Motu Windows Forum has to say is: "that he is a Mac guy..."
Never was a big fan of the motu windows driver support either... but my HD192 was a faithfull companion over the past years.
So I stick to Motu for now
---------------
I just edit my post to reply to the post of James...cause I dont want to bring a "solved" topic up again.
Though its written on top of this Forum...I didnt see that this isnt the official Motu Forum. (As a PC guy ..Im not used to read manuals/ disclaimers etc...
)
I understand your points 2 and 3.
Sorry that I got you wrong!
I appreciate the time and energy you invest in this independent forum

FIRSTLY... This is NOT an official MOTU FORUM!!! Please read the disclaimer at the header of this page that appears on EVERY PAGE!! This site is NOT run by MOTU!vanielik wrote:Let me say one thing about Motu.

SECOND, I am the Site Admin and Owner and listed by default as the moderator in all the forums. If you like I can appoint a Windows user to be listed as moderator. I think you got some decent advice from users nonetheless.
THIRD, I only said I was a Mac guy to explain why I couldn't help more myself and thankful to torrentg for all his helpfulness in the Windows forum. Digital Performer, as you know, has been a Mac app for nearly all its existence and for many years since this was an independent forum NOT AFFILIATED WITH MOTU, there wasn't any Windows area, but I added one to be helpful.
Either way, I repeat: this forum is an independent user community. It is NOT operated by MOTU. Using this site to assume anything about MOTU's interest in "PC guys" makes no sense.
