Yes, of course it is. I have 7.24 and 8.05 running on my 2009 MacBook
in 10.8.5, no problems.

There were some problems with MP3 export options with the initial release where installing DP8 would affect DP7's ability to export the same. Maybe that's been resolved? I still miss the QuickTime movie export options but time, and QuickTime marches on.

Yes, with the caveats listed above. But they work together very well. For example, I needed to mix a tune today with 32 bit VIs so I booted up 7.24. Was going to bounce to mp3 but then I remembered the Lame issue. No problem, I just opened the same project in 8.05 and bounced away.

Apart from the export options, you'll also find the Reverse real-time plugin gone when you revert to 7.24. Here's all the files you'll need to revert: http://prayforrain.com/misc/DP7FilesToR ... xports.zip

DP 8 handled LAME differently and caused LAME in 7.24 to no longer work. You could have one or the other but not both.
With the 8.03 update (or was it 8.04?), MOTU did away with the need for LAME although you can still use it if you have it installed in earlier versions of 8 as it is still one of your export options.
If important to you, you could try enabling it in 7.24 and disabling it in 8 now that it's no longer needed. You should be good to go both ways. I've not tested it - haven't the need.
Otherwise, there are certain plugs that are incompatible between the two if you are running 8 in 64bit plus a few anomalies as noted but it certainly works. I was tweaking an old project in 7.24 just last night.
