Dragging WHAT to the left pane? Sound files? MIDI data?

It started out with some sort of corrupted conductor track clipping, then after that crashed dp, all other audio files dragged in to the left pane in the Tracks window crashed dp as well. But after a reboot all is back to normal.

Tried with the "safe" set of plug-ins only, also crashes.

Working fine here as well. You might want to trashed the DP plist(s) and possibly reinstall the app.

Thanks, will try that, it works fine in SE though, but not in TO.

Re: Drag to left pane in TO in 8.05 Crashes DP
Those windows do work different when dragging stuff in. Unless it's changed since I last tried it, dragging into the TO window where no specific track is dragging into will (with soundbites) create a new track. In the SE all you can do is add to t attack. SO it might be that DP is somehow having a problem either crating or deciding whether or not to create a new track.
Just my guess.

I am always referring to dragging into the left most side of both windows. In the SE if you drag an audio file onto the left most section it will create a new track as well, like in the TO.
As for deleting the plist, can you please point me to where that is? Thanks.

Re: Drag to left pane in TO in 8.05 Crashes DP [RESOLVED]
This is kind of an old thread, but, I just had the same problem as you dragging in soundbites from a ProTools X session. I wasn't able to drag from the Soundbites window into Tracks.
I was able to drag soundbites one by one into the Sequence Editor.
I usually keep my Mixing Board and Tracks window as separate windows and use my Sequence window as a consolidated window with the Channel Strip.
For the heck of it, I decided to try to drag multiple soundbites into the Tracks window (the left side of Tracks) as a consolidated window and that worked just fine.
I've never had this issue since switching to 64 bit, but, here's a possible work around I guess.
