Do you mean 10.9? If so, it's the besets OS Apple has produced since Leopard, IMO. All my apps are working perfectly. All the developer updates have been free updates and it's smooth! SMOOOOOOTH!

Really like it. Like MLC, can't think of anything that's not working, and working well. You can almost feel the extra power under the hood.

Plus being able to download the latest versions of iLife....free....is very very cool.

(And if you're curious about Logic X, there's the new version of Garageband for the basic look and feel. It doesn't overwrite the old version of Garageband, FYI, but plenty of GB users seem to be upset by the new version for various reasons. Check out user comments on the new version if you use the old version frequently)

GB is free, but not the rest of iLife, at least not where I can find it.

The latest updates to Pages (which I had previously purchased), iMovie, and iPhoto were all presented as 'updates' under Software Update (which now takes you to a section of the AppStore). I had the iLife 11 versions before. I'm assuming/guessing I wasn't charged.....

Perhaps I didn't install iLife but I was kind of certain I did. Maybe it got lost in the shuffle. iPhoto is showing up for $15 but Pages, Numbers, and Keynote all updated. Maybe they are from my iWork, not my iLife purchase?

I'm missing the elevator. Is there a trick to that? Also all my double click functions don't work on my laptop. Likely a setting cause it's only on that machine. Have to use control-open on everything.

DP 7.24 works pretty well but OS is slow to open at first. I just put it up though. Thanks for the thoughts, appreciate it.

There are still developers who have not reported Mavericks compatability.
Lack of certainty about Mavericks compatibility is a deal-killer for many
of us.

As far as I know, these developers have not yet officially reported on Mavericks compatibility:

ikMultimedia
UAD
Celemony
Native Instruments
Sound Toys (some acknowledgement of Decapitator crashing, but no official
statement)

And, if you read down - there seems to be a problem with Live Room G and B
in 8.05 under Mavericks.

Can't go to Mavericks until official statements on these and other plug-in and VI platforms are released.

I agree; best since Snow Leopard (which I liked better than leopard). I hated the two Lions. Mavericks adds features that are useful to developers of software and content (audio, video, games, etc.) as opposed to social media crap that most of us could care less about.

The incompatibilities I have experienced so far are related to no longer being able to boot in 32-bit mode. From any other point of view, they're the same incompatibilities I already had; just no longer with a workaround.

It makes sense that it wouldn't offer the update if iPhoto wasn't already on your drive. Did the App Store offer up Aperture for free (this was reported by various sites)

All of iWork and iLife appeared a free updates on my laptop, as well as Aperture. Older versions of iLife were on the laptop when it arrived, and I bought iWork as downloads from the Apple site (not the store). But, I had to run Update a few times to get iPhoto to actually download and install. It wasn't there the first time, and the second time the download stalled.

iPhoto IS on my drive as are all the other iLife apps. That's what's so puzzling.

I had to restart between updates attempts to get iPhoto successfully. Between attempts, it appeared normal on the drive, but showed up as greyed out icon in the Launcher.

Questions on the elevator and double click issues answered. Don't set double click speed all the way up. Set scroll bar setting to always. For some reason they came in set wrong on the update wrong.

I'm finding I can select 32 bit in DP with 10.9. No issues so far.

That happened to me installing BFD3 and probably a couple other updates. Greyed out. Restart. There it is.

If you're scratching your head, restart!
