Clippings with VEP Instruments break? Bug?

Post by Marc7777 »

Hello,

Can anyone confirm this potential bug?

Basically, I made a beautiful template, and to cut down on the size, I made a bunch of clippings with MIDI instruments and audio tracks for various instrument groups that I don't use often, but I want to be able to call them up if need be.. which is what clippings are made to do! (also an amazing feature that only DP has!) These are MIDI and audio tracks that are routed to VEP on a slave Mac Pro.

So I made the clipping - as a Digital Performer Clipping (I also tried Project Clipping)

If I open the Template project (as in double clicking the actual project) I can load the clippings just fine! It keeps all the MIDI routings and everything. Great!

If I Save the template as a template, and recall it via the drop-down menu, and create it from that (new), the clippings come in, but the MIDI isn't routed. It's italicized... I then have to manually re-route the MIDI. The audio is still correct.. just the VEP MIDI stuff gets lost..

This isn't a huge deal, since I can just recall my template and do a 'save as' and it's essentially the same thing.. But i'm just curious if I'm doing something wrong.

Can anyone confirm this?

DP8.04, VEP5 latest. 1 DAW Mac Pro, 1 VEP Slave Mac Pro.

Many Thanks!
