Motu 828 MK3 Firewire and Ableton 8

Hi everyone,

I have a Motu 828 MK3 Firewire. I use some external MIDI devices as korg microx, novation bass station and elektron machinedrum. Now, I have seriously problem to control them via MIDI on Ableton. The interface appears in the MIDI preferences of Ableton as the audio interface but not in the list of the MIDI devices of MIDI tracks outputs. So, I can't send any MIDI notes to my external devices.

Does the MIDI port of the 828 appear in Audio MIDI Setup?

Yep! I virtually tried to connect devices as the Motu Manual suggests but nothing happened.

Do you have any other applications that use MIDI, and can they see the 828?

I have Logic Pro 9. I already tried it. Same story. Motu results as a audio interface but not like a MIDI device. II'll try again tomorrow evening for good measure 'cause I don't know logic so well.

If Logic can't see the MIDI port on your 828, maybe you don't have a working MIDI driver. I forget whether the Audio installer for the 828 also installs a MIDI driver, or whether you have to do a separate install for MIDI.

Hi,

I unistalled all the drivers and I did everything again. Now the 828 works perfectly. It was a MIDI driver matter. I can't explain why it's going well after three times...
