Motu 2408mk3 & Presonus Firepod
New to the forum, but love it. Should have searched this out a couple yrs ago. Anyway....I'm running a Dell XPS400, Windows XP Pro, Adobe Audition, with a Yamaha O2R presently going into the Motu 2408 Mk3 via 3 TDIF cables. My main problem is tech overload for the most part...everything works if and when I can figure it out. I spend so much time trying to route things I never get any recording done. I'm thinking about ditching the O2R and hooking up a Presonus Firepod I had been using before I got the O2R and the Mk3...if it will work. So my main question is .....has anyone tried or does anyone know if you can run the Presonus Firepod via its firewire cable into the Motu PCIe 424 Card....and will it show up. Just wondering. I was gonna run a experiment on my days off and see if I could get anywhere. The combo of the Mk3 and Firepod will give me 16 In & Out with 8 XLR pre's in the Firepod. I'm thinkin this will be easier to deal with than the mind numbing issues I face with my present set up.

I don't know if the MOTU card will accept other units, but I would guess not. MOTU's solution is called "audiowire" when their cards are in use.
If worse comes to worse, I've seen firewire 400 cards for as cheap as 4 bucks.

Yea......i thought of that ....but was wondering how everything would show up in Audition....right now with the TDIF Cars everything is pretty much straight away as far as routing in Audition.....its the O2R that drives me crazy.....not sure if i add another Firewire card how that will funtion. Tomorrow is my last day....12hr days plus 2hr travel makes a long 14hr day. So on my day off i'm gonna mess with everything. I'll let ya know how it goes.
