I've got problem with Lycom firewire pci-card .
When I start Motu ultralite mk3 hybrid , Windows 7 (64 bit) don't see the ultralite , only the Lycom firewire card ( TI chipset ) .
I have to restart Windows up to 3 times , then Windows recognize the ultralite .
I got the advice from the Motu support to update the Lycom firewire card with the legacy driver .
Is that a good idea ? can something go wrong if the update isn't from Lycom ?

Re: Firewire problem
I'm the one that discovered MOTU stability on Windows 7, 8 with the legacy driver and publicized it, after I was having issues with pops, clicks and dropouts. Yes, it is an excellent idea and no, it is no risk whatsoever in any way at all. Go for it.
