MOTU 24i/o stopped working

Hello,

My MOTU 24i/o just stopped working...When I turn it on, the frequency leds alternate one after the other for 5 seconds, then, nothing. No led lits, no sound. If I turn it off, and back on, the same thing happens: the frequency leds alternate one after the other for 5 seconds, then, nothing. The transfers do keep buzzing as usual, which means the interface is still power supplied. Any idea what may be causing this?

I don't know that unit but is it buss powered? Do you have the option to self power with a wall wart? Have you tried that? It could be the buss power is insufficient or improperly grounded.

It isn't possible to plug a wall wart. It's powered directly using a mains lead. Any other idea?

Get a different interface? Seriously, try a different interface in the same port and see if the problem persists. You might have to borrow one. Maybe your local dealer can loan you one? Who did you buy the unit from? Can they offer any kind of support?

I have another 24i/o from MOTU and it works fine. It's the interface and the audio that don't work (not related to the computer or to the low-profile board).

Well then, it either gets fixed or placed in the "not ready for prime time" pile. I wouldn't trust anything attached to my system that hum except a union hummer...

Hello, yes, it was an IC that I had replaced by the MOTU tech representative.

I paid the shop €90.
