Cuemix reverb hell on earth
Hello, I´m going crazy with this stupid question. i´ve read the manual carefully, I´ve read a lot of posts but I can´t find solution to this little problem.
I have a motu ultralite MK3, great sound and great great reverb, it´s amazing.
I have:
- My tele connected to a stereo effect (chorus)pedal
- From the pedal two outputs to the Mic\ins 1 and Mic\ins 2
I only want to make a reverb setting, hear it and record it in my DAW (reaper) as it.
Tweak knobs, all buttons on\off but I can´t find soultion to my problem.
Could someone explain me step by step how to make it?
Thanks friends!!!!

Re: Cuemix reverb hell on earth
The reverb signal is recorded separately (on separate DAW tracks) than the inputs to the DAW (which are always dry). The stereo reverb is labeled "Reverb Return 1" and "Reverb Return 2". Record those 2 DAW inputs if you want to record the stereo reverb. (And of course you need to also record the Analog 1 and Analog 2 inputs on two more DAW tracks to record the dry source).
Re: Cuemix reverb hell on earth
Do I need to record those 4 tracks and then mix it into a single stereo track to obtain the mix of the dry signal with the reverb?
Thanks
Thanks
Re: Cuemix reverb hell on earth
I don't have that MOTU unit, but I don't think so.
The wet signals alone being recorded should suffice, as I am sure that the "wet" does not mean "only reverb and not original signal."
So what I'm saying is that if you don't want or need the dry signal, you don't have to record it. If you only record the wet signal, it will have the dry signal affected with reverb and it's all a done deal right there.
Hope this helps and is actually correct lol. Someone please confirm.

Re: Cuemix reverb hell on earth
As far as I know, the reverb returns are only the reverb signal, not the dry as well. So yes, you have to bounce the 4 tracks to 2 if you want them combined. (Although maybe you want to just mix all reverb tracks to 2, so you still have the original dry tracks in case you ever want to remix).
But if you just want to throw the same amount of reverb on everything, don't record the reverb return inputs. Wait until you do the final mix. Then go to the "Outputs" page of Cuemix, and add reverb to the whole mix (ie, Main outs). Play your mix, while you simultaneously record the "Stereo Return 1" and "Stereo Return 2" DAW inputs to two of your DAW tracks. These are two more special inputs, like the stereo reverb returns. But these two are the sound of everything you hear from the Main out jacks, including the reverb.

Re: Cuemix reverb hell on earth
thanks... I´ve been thinking that if I want reverb on only one track I can mute all tracks and create a stereo return for example to get the reverb... it sound easy...
but for this awesome unit it´s very difficult make a simple thing like that and I don´t understand it...

Re: Cuemix reverb hell on earth
I don't think the unit was designed as an outboard effects processor. The reverb is there for monitor mixes and/or live use, mostly for vocals. Generally folks don't like a completely dry signal when laying down the vocal (or other) tracks. Verbs on guitars (instruments), etc generally come in at the mixing stage via plugs and outboard gear. If you record your guitar wet, there's no going back.eltrex wrote: but for this awesome unit it´s very difficult make a simple thing like that and I don´t understand it...

Re: Cuemix reverb hell on earth
yes, you´re right. I´ve testing the two methods & create 2 sterep tracks (1 dry+1 reverb) is great. I cand adjust the level of the reverb once recorded and this is the best method.
Thanks, thanks & thanks for help me!!!!

Re: Cuemix reverb hell on earth
Sorry to bring up this discussion, but instead of writing everything again as a question, I'd just like to get the info on how to do the same thing as above, but with the Traveler Mk3 (that doesn't have those return inputs)... I'm running low/out of analog inputs though, so just real quick: how would I go about getting the reverb on my tracks recorded? Any way to do it digitally or with routing a digital cable, or how do i do it with analog (mono and stereo) ?
