The key command for Default Patch change (for selected track) is, Command-Up/Dwn Arrow. Perhaps you inadvertently hit that. I've done away with that key command to avoid this.

Thanks for the tip on removing the Default Patch. I was having the same issue with Modulo. I hadn't put in a Default Patch that I was aware of, but every time I hit play anywhere in the track it would go back to patch 1. I put in a Default Patch to force it to the chosen patch, but that didn't work, so I came here for advice. Once I cleared the Default Patch it stayed on whatever I had selected via Modulo itself. When I put the Default Patch back in as a test, it went back to patch 1 every time I hit play. I also just added a Default Patch of 07 W Palm while the track was playing and it immediately switched to patch 1. I guess your initial thought that it doesn't take patch changes was correct.
