Speed up sample loading

Hi all,

I am trying out DP before making the jump, there is a lot of things to like about DP, but there is one show stopper - DP load samples much slower than my previous experience with other DAW.

To be precise, it doesn't really load samples slower, but for whatever reason DP tend to 'hang' a long time (from 2 to 5mins) before it even start to load any samples, it happened in both Kontakt and Play based library.

So, my question is rather twofold, is it general experience to other user? If that is the case, I am thinking of buying Vienna Ensemble Pro to remedy this problem. But unfortunately, only existing VSL customer can try out VEP, and I am not. I am not sure if VEP really complement DP well. It would be great if there is people out there that can share there experience with VEP and DP win version.

That is not normal, something is up with your system. They should start right away, the only hold back should be the speed of your computer and drives.

Although I have yet to try the Win version, there is no such delay when using DP8 on a Mac.

I suppose, you talk about samples loading time, not whole DP app loading.
SSD drives do speed up DP and samples loading time.
But I've never seen 2 mins samples loading time on any of my Mac setups (DP4.5 to DP8).
