MOTU 24 I/O route input1 to input2

hi guys
i have a simple problem
i have motu 24i/o and i want to route my input's 1 output to input 2 .
how can i enable output 1 which gives me input 1 sound and then route this sound with a cable to input 2 .

i need a stereo sound and unfortunately my input is mono . i want to make it stereo with send input's 1 output to input 2 or route input 1 to input2 .

how can i do that !!

Live performance, recording, or for both scenarios?

Since the only way you are going to turn a mono signal into a stereo one is by effect processing, your best bet is probably to use a VST plug-in and/or standalone effects processing application such as Guitar Rig, Amplitube, TH2 or something similar.

Simply mute the instrument's input in MOTU CueMix console. In one of the softwares I mentioned above, set the instrument's input and then set any output you want. Muting in CueMix is so you don't get any dry sound whatsoever and you only hear or record the processed stereo signal the program will create.

but i dont want to use extra software.

i have 10 live input and i want to make all of them stereo for recording or online playback .

is there anyway to send input 1 to output 1 with MOTU default software And then i connect output 1 with a cable to input 1 .

or is there anyway to route input 1 to input 2 with MOTU default software ???

Um...you say you have 10 live inputs...ok that's cool....but I really don't see any benefit or point to making a mono signal into stereo just for the sake of it. You'd be left with the exact equal of a mono signal panned to middle.

If you truly do want stereo sound from one or all of them, you're going to have to process the signal some way or another with software or external hardware outboard gear before it gets to the MOTU, which would then give you two channels per anyhow. (I don't think 24 I/O has onboard effects.)

(Perhaps I'm confused or not understanding what you're trying to accomplish??)

Surely it is simple? If you want to hear the input live through your interface, set input 1 to outputs 1-2 in CueMix panned in the middle (as long as the inputs are configured for mono - if they are set to stereo there will only be signal on the left hand channel.

In you are recording surely you would want it to be a mono track, why double the disk space for no reason? Your software will allow for mono tracks to be set to any stereo output pair.

I was just glancing over the thread here and wanted to make a quick clarification.

Of course, you will be able to create any stereo mix you can dream of with only mono signals into the MOTU. All you need to do is pan each instrument appropriately based on what you are try to create.

But to make any single mono track into stereo...for example...hear a singer's voice from one mic ping-pong echo in the left channel then next in the right, or adding stereo chorus...anything along those lines whatsoever or even related, requires processing from separate hardware or computer software.
