text size

Post by peter mumme »

Hi; here's a most basic question .. how can the size of the text (in such as a soundbites list) be increased ?
(DP6 currently, DP8?)

shrinking screens and ageing eyes don't mix well ..

Cheers

There's nothing you can do with the font sizes. I have the same problem. The two things I have done to get around itL 1) use a theme that emphasizes the contrast between the text and the background in the areas where font size is small. In the column headers in the TO window, for example, I make the background lighter than the window background rather than darker as it is in most themes. 2) I find I'm working with the text a lot more at the start of a project than at the end, so when I start I just reduce the screen resolution.

First of all, your eyes aren't aging. Either your chair or your monitors are getting too far away.

You may want to try a larger sized 1080 monitor. A 27" is doing the trick for me, but you could conceivably put DP on a huge 70" HD screen if you wanted.

Just in case you don't know about this little shortcut/workaround:

Not sure if this works the same in all configs, but there is a system command for zooming in on the screen. On my rig, holding CONTROL whilst rolling the mouse wheel forward zooms me in to see things more bigly. I often use this to zoom in on a phone number so I can read it from across the room.

This is enabled in System Preferences>universal Access in all recent versions of OS X, I believe
