2408 MKII ADAT Out

Hi guys,
I've been using my 2408 MKII with my PCI-324 card for a few years now and not had any problems at all, until now.
Basically my card is dead. These things happen, so I'll just replace it. But in the meantime (next payday, then delivery time) this leaves me without a compatible sound card for my 2408. But I do have an old EMU 1616m card which has spdif in and out and adat in and out.
I only ever use the 8 analog inputs in the 2048, so my question is can I use the analog inputs on the 2048 via one of the ADAT outs and straight into the EMU soundcard?
