Mach Five version one system requirements

Post by rockitcity »

I suspect I know the answer to this, but I'm finally getting a new computer (Mac Mini Quad i7, latest OSX). I have Mach Five Version one that I never upgraded because I got into using Sample Tank. I got a notice from IK Multimedia that I'm out of licenses for Sample Tank, so I think I'll install Mach Five on the new system. Will version one work on a new Mac? I figure I will probably have to upgrade, but wondering if it is worth installing Version one? Thanks for any help.

Mach Five (version one) will not work on any Intel Mac, only PPC macs (the G5 was the last of that bunch). Get Mach Five 3. It's well worth it!

Totally agree. M5 all the way. You won't be sorry, not one bit (or 64 bits).

Thanks, that's what I thought, and probably why I hadn't used it in soooo long!

Yeah, time to upgrade. Not sure about DP8 yet, but will probably get it too. Will have both systems available for a while if there are issues, but I'm not a deep enough user to find many at this point. (I'm a ProTools user at work...) Kind of hate to lose my Presonus Faderport native functionality with DP 8, though.
