Hello all,
I'm hoping some MOTU guru out there can help me troubleshoot some timecode issues I'm having. First, here's a rundown of my setup...
Express XT hooked up to an Acer PC.
Express XT used to route MIDI to and from several devices (guitar processers, 2x Yamaha DM2000's, etc)
30 FPS, non-drop LTC timecode feeding the Express XT, used to convert the incoming LTC to MTC to feed the DM2000's.
I'm having 2 issues...
1.) The walk-in music (and associated timecode) is on a 10 minute loop, with a very tight loop point. There is probably less than 10 frames of a gap. The Express XT does not recognize the loop, and continues to run. Unplugging and re-plugging the TC input will fix this, as will changing the TC type in the drop-down menu.
2.) At several points throughout the show, both DM2000s will display a frame drop error message, followed by the number of frames missing. The number varies occasionally, but it will usually indicate a drop of 1,802 frames (~1 minute at 30ndf). It will never be in the same spot twice, but both consoles will display the same error message
I have tried every combination of TC settings on both the Express XT and the DM2000 to no avail.
I can rule out the incoming LTC as the source of the issues. When the LTC is patched directly to one of the DM2000s, there are no issues. Also, we are a VERY TC intensive theater, having numerous lighting and audio consoles, pyro controllers, video servers and TC readers. Nobody else is having an issue.
I have not tried to hook the Express XT to one of our Mac Minis yet. It could only be used as a test, however. We have some control software that receives MIDI commands from the DM2000s that is (unfortunately) PC only.
ROM version - 3.0.23
Clockworks version - 4.0.4.8697 (8/5/2011)
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Josh
