828 MKii FireWire Help Please

Post by coichivieira »

I am a new user here in the forum and I need your help, and I would count on help from anyone who can cooperate please.

I have a problem in this audio interface, I got a few days ago by the Amazon.com site, I own a HP laptop with a 4-pin FireWire port, bought a standard cable 6 pin to 4 pin, installed the latest driver available on the website Motu, she recognizes through my system appears inputs and outputs and the MOTU aUDIO CONSOLE recognizes perfectly, but when I play a sound by itself windows 7, using many players like winamp, media player and others, the audio does not come out, the players crash when I open a DAW program such as Fl Studio 11, Sonar X2 and other error message appears about ASIO (as in the attached image), and others not detect the card an example of the error I attached to one email print screen ..
Someone had the same problem or know a solution?

Hello and welcome.

First thing I'd do is to change the IEEE 1394 Firewire driver to the one with "Legacy" in its name. It's already on your system as part of Windows. Use the Device Manager: devmgmt.msc

That should help it. If not, see that the cable is rated for the correct speed and doesn't have some arbitrary bandwidth reduction inherent to it.

When I put in "LEGACY" neither recognizes the audio interface, I even removing the drive and installing again, I changed the cable and the problem remains, to beginning to suspect that it is defective..
