It's crashed a couple times on me. But currently, I'm switching back and forth between computers, one which I haven't run DP in for almost 9 months, and is still running Snow Leopard, so it's hard to know. Needless to say, I've seen some weird stuff in the last few days.

Re: DP 8.04 is working great.
I had MachFive stop sounding and would not function until I quit and reboot DP. Experienced zoom issues when using command arrow keys that just stopped working all together. Some sluggishness in operation along with auxhost issues using jbridge. I had a couple of crashes as well. I can't 100% tell you this is a DP 8.0.4 issue or something I may have done along the way - I can only say I was working as I always do. Did DP update their key commands in 8.0.4? Maybe I am hitting a key to stop zoom or something...???
I have gone back to using 8.0.2 - Which has been rock solid for me so far.

Hello,
We're still on snow leopard here and DP 8.04 & PT 10.3.5 seem to be stable and sharing hardware well.

PAW!

We thoughtchew was daid! You'd be proud of this DP 8.04 we're using now! No more cattle rustlers, train robberies, or brush fires. Just good ol' audio and MIDI! (Maybe a few Quickdraw gunslingers, though.)

I'm also having trouble with waveform redraw in the sequence editor.
Mac Pro 3,1 8 core 12 gigs ram Mavericks. DP-8.05 Fractal Audio Axe-FX Ultra, motu traveler, motu MIDI express, 2-24" LCD monitors, Yamaha HS80M,Yamaha NS10M's JBL28P monitors. Paul Reed Smith guitars, MPC-2500 there's more..but that's the heart of it.
Re: DP 8.04 is working great.
I've been using 8.04 solidly since it came out and am impressed with how responsive it feels, particularly for editing in the sequence window. Did several days of music recording, editing and mixing along with a movie post session mixing to picture for two long days. Not a crash so far.
That being said there are a few annoying things still hanging out.
The good
1.The wiper is smooth at all zoom levels and vu meters don't stutter when changing pages. (been a problem up to 8.03)
2.Very responsive zooming, dragging wiper screen updates (it was so noticeable when I'd go back and work on a 6 or 7 system.
3. Undo history didn't crash when I made it travel far back in time (been happening for me since 8.0)
4. Movies did not crash the project at all and they play well in the movie window. Two eight hour days of running a movie while I mixed a project and not a crash. (the main thing is that 8.03 caused every movie I opened to crash the project at some point)
4. Bounce to disk feels faster.
The annoying but liveable
1. using the open page to open a project can open the wrong project.
2. Weird artifacts in screen redraws. Yesterday I dragged the edge of a clip and the fade handles took a second to catch up.
3. Mouse scroll wheel is almost unusable in the mixer volume and bite volume sub window. this used to work great but broke with 8 and is still broke. All other scrolling is back to working great.
4. All the audio doesn't always play have to stop playback and restart. Its happening less than earlier 8's but happened once so far with 8.04.
5. Random waveforms in the sequence window will suddenly start to redraw. Again started with 8 and still there.

BTD movies seems fine and I haven't seen any other problems but also haven't done any super intense sessions. BTD MP3 seems to have slowed to a crawl.

Re: DP 8.04 is working great.
I also had a pretty good experience with 8.04 and a QT .mov last week.
There was one time when it failed to advance/ritard frames using the Mac kybd., but I set up my own kybd. hot-strokes (+ and - instead of -> and <-) and never had any problems after that.
Also did a bounce to movie. I looked and sounded great *BUT* it clipped the head of the audio & pix. So I set to bounce range to a few ticks before pix/audio start and got a perfectly clean (and usable) .mov that I could send to client.
So, all in all, a winner!

Re: DP 8.04 is working great.
I finally installed my DP8 upgrade tonight, followed by the 8.0.4 update, and am impressed that twenty projects of various vintages all opened without a hitch, with the only problem being the expected failure to open 32-bit-only plugs, marking them as not found and giving the option of skipping or deleting (I chose the former so that I can correct each case individually).
I have only experienced two problems so far:
ARIA fails AU inspection (I believe this was mentioned already), but I rarely use it
This may just be a reflection of constant background processes due to my preferences, but the dirty flag isn't set after a save and yet the file save menu item is almost always if not always enabled, making me a bit scared I might lose some work when I close a project.
I played with themes and chose Alloy after trying a few others in various lighting conditions (Classic, DP8 Default, Producer, and a few of the standard ones labeled from light to dark). The Mixing Board especially benefits from the additional grey-tonal colours, for quickly honing in on details without getting dizzy or losing one's place. With DP7 I had stuck to the default, and this is most closely matched with the standard themes. The default DP8 theme doesn't have enough separation between elements for me to distinguish sub-components.
It took me well over half an hour to find soundbite colour preferences I could live with, as the new feature is implemented quite differently and the defaults are almost illegible. In DP7, I had black waveforms against backgrounds that match the track colours. I played with saturation and lightness in various room lighting conditions as well as in real-time use of the Sequence View and Tracks View, and ended up with full waveform saturation and no lightness (i.e. black), and roughly 70% each for saturation and lightness of the background.
I haven't yet gotten further than the Play and Record preferences but have not yet been bitten by any of the defaults for the new features exposed further down in the preferences pane.
Startup is much quicker than before, but projects with lots of "invalid" 9i.e. 32-bit-only) plug-ins seem a bit sluggish while it tries to resolve the problem.
I am thrilled by the new Startup Window, and after comparing it to those from Notion, Sibelius, and Finale, feel it is the best in the industry at the moment. Very flexible, intuitive, easy on the eyes, and complete in its coverage of anything you'd want to do at startup or after closing a project while keeping the application running.

The "dirty flag" is never raised anymore. MOTU did away with it. Save is always enabled now.

Re: DP 8.04 is working great.
Hmm, interesting. I'm glad they don't follow the recent trend towards doing away with File-->Save as I find the terminology on Lion (and later) quite confusing. Many dislike the dirty flag on the Mac and don't notice it easily compared to Windows with the convention of marking the frame title. It's nice to know during a crash whether you may have data loss though.
