HELP with DP7

Post by Poppet »

I’ve diagnosed that I have a double MIDI note input problem affecting synth playback when I’m working with songs and chunks.

When I play back an individual chunk as a discrete unit, the mix is fine and as I intend.

When I play back the chunk as a contiguous part of the song, double input alters the balance and quality of the sequence mix.

There has to be some “hidden” preference or menu protocol I need to deselect (or select). How can I turn off this double input in Song Playback mode?

(I seem to recall that in a much older version of Performer you had the option of chunks being the actual, original sequences [in which the icons simply functioned as part of playback control], or duplicates of those sequences, making the song an entirely separate compendium of data. Am I encountering some artifact of that? Needless to say, my desire is the first option.)

To be honest I don't know many people using the chunks thing like that so you might be right! If you're sure there isn't doubled up MIDI in the file - look in the event editor and it's pretty easy to see - then you may well have a problem. I've had that issue but only when a MIDI keyboard was outputting two notes at a time. This actually is more likely an audio issue than a MIDI one. Not sure if buses can route from one chunk to another but it may be something like that. Sorry I cant be of more help

Just as an aside, it's always more helpful to post a specific topic subject, like "double MIDI notes in Chunks" or something similar. Saying "HELP with DP7" as the subject is like going to a car repair forum and posting, "Please help me with my car".

Now, regarding the "double MIDI notes" problem, I'm not even sure what it is
you are talking about. Are you trying to record a MIDI event while a Chunk is
playing? Are you trying to trigger a VI while a Chunk is playing?
