Ableton Live / MOTU Ultralite problem

I am experiencing an odd issue with my audio/MIDI routing.

My Ableton project is set up, working fine with multiple ins and outs through the MOTU, and MIDI as well.

When I restart my laptop, and open up the project again - Ableton no longer sees the MOTU - so I need to tell Ableton to use the MOTU - and re-select all my ins and outs.

Also - for any MIDI channels, I have to redirect the track to MOTU - but it no longer shows as "MOTU Ultralite" - instead it shows "MOTU Ultralite #2"

subsequent reboots experience the same thing, but each time the # goes up... "MOTU Ultralite #3, #4 etc.. ."


I am currently at "MOTU Ultralite #8" - wondering how long this is going to continue. Having to reset all my ins and outs and MIDI connections is a bit of a pain


I didn't have this problem before (on a different MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard... with a straight Firewire400 cable.


So I'm not sure if this is an issue with Live... with MOTU (having to use a Firewire800>400 cable now with the new MacBook)...


Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Did you find out the solution for this issue??
I have the same problem, each time I restart the computer a new ultralite #2 MIDI device is created...so Ableton lose his configuration.
I've tried a lot of things, uninstall and reinstall drivers, reset factory defaults etc...

Is this sorted now? What was the issue? Do you use it with Live 9?

I'm having this problem also! I was on UltraLite #54 when I discovered it. Deleted them all except one, but it keeps happening. I'm using Logic Pro X on OS 10.8.4, 2011 2.7gHz 27" iMac i5.

PS: I am using the original UltraLite Mk1 - how about you guys?
