clearing out analysis files

Post by stainless »

as I understand this- the analysis files are mainly for time stretching and pitch shifting

as I don't use either (to the best of my awareness)- is there anyway to completely turn this function off? it seems to generate lots of folders with lots of files... and on some of my larger sessions it seems to take a while to load as it analyzes (re-analyzes?) each track (wave form outline with nothing inside for a while... or just a bar in place of the waveform

I found references to folks trashing the files- does this have to be done folder by folder (leaving the folder, or can I just trash all subfolders within the analysis folder (or for that matter, can I just trash the analysis folder)

I've emptied the folder, but DP seems to just place more files back...

or should I just practice my zen and develope more patience

I was under the impression they were used for waveform display but they do take up a lot of space. I'd be interested in the answer as well since I also don't time stretch or beat analyze audio.

I don't know how much of what you're seeing is DSP analysis, but there is a background processing preference to "wait until DSP analysis is needed." You might want to check that and see if it at least helps a little.
