how to play ipod via ultralite mk3?

Prepare for what will be a very basic question for many of you....

I simply would like to play my ipod through my studio monitors, which are hooked up to my Ultralite mk3. I would like to do this if possible by just turning on the Ultralite mk3 and my monitors, but not having to boot up my computer and/or launch DP.

My current studio setup is as follows:

MacBook Pro retina 2.8GHz, 768GB Flash Storage, 16GB memory, 27" thunderbolt screen
MOTU hybrid mk3
EW Complete Composers Collections (Symphonies, etc.) loaded into a 1TB Lacie Little Big Disk (SSD), connected via thunderbolt to my MBP
DP8

Korg Kronos X

The Main Outs of my mk3 go directly to my Adam s7x monitors. My Korg Kronos X is going into the mk3's analog Ins numbers 3-4. My mk3 is connected to my MacBook Pro via Firewire w/thunderbolt adapter. I am using the mk3's DC power source. I have MIDI cables running in and out of the mk3 to my Korg Kronos.

My Ultralite mk3 settings are as follows:

Sample Rate: 44100
Clock Source: Internal
Default Stereo Input: Analog 1-2
Default Stereo Output: Main Out 1-2
Phones Assign: Phones 1-2
Main Out Assign: Analog 3-4 when just playing my Kronos without turning on the MacBook Pro, and I switch to Main Outs 1-2 when using DP
Return Assign 1-2

I am sending my iPod signal via two quarter-inch unbalanced stereo cables. When I swap them out for the Korg Kronos cables in the Analog IN numbers 3-4, the ipod plays just fine through the Adams. But I was hoping to run the ipod into some other analog INs in the mk3 (e.g., 5-6) so that I could keep the Kronos plugged in. However, when I plug the ipod into Analog Ins 5-6 of the mk3, and then switch the Main Out Assign to analog 5-6, I cannot hear the ipod.

Please advise of the simplest way to set up so that I can easily plug an ipod into the mk3 and play it, ideally by simply making a switch of something on the front panel.

Just set up a mix in CueMix FX with the faders up on whatever analog pair(s) you want and the mix bus output set to your mains. When you turn off the computer, the CueMix stuff is persistent.
