Just create the damn instrument in the tracks folder already! It's not rocket science and EVERYTHING doesn't need to be automated, unless you're incredibly lazy.

Anyway thanks for response but while I'm on Windows and came to this forum thread for help on this system.
Funny, all those who are here helping work on the Mac when this is the Windows Forum.
Be careful. There are different shorcuts and maybe something else
.

I suppose I should offer an apology as well. I thought we were still on moving an instrument, but no, we've moved on to colors. I usually expect a different thread for a different problem.

Impossible?

frankf wrote:-Color picker in Mixer, ctrl-click the track name
-moving a single instrument track from v-rack to sequence:
1. create an unassigned instrument track in sequence
2. In the mixer, show both the V-rack track and the new sequence instrument track you just created, then drag the assigned instrument from the V-rack track to the sequence instrument track
3. Delete the (now unassigned) instrument track from the v-rack
4. Reassign associated MIDI tracks' output assignments

(Also the above can be done clippings: highlight the instrument in the v-rack track, copy to a clipping, create an unassigned instrument track in sequence, drag the clipping to the instrument insert. Not much different than abound)
Hey, I never thought about creating an unassigned instrument and moving via the Mixer like that! In this thread there's a great tip anyway. :) What irks me though is it's being ignored by monoclock in favor of his petty nit picking at you that you posted a mac shortcut at him.... wow? You solved his problem and attempted to solve his other one and got scolded. ????

monoclock you're fast making a bad impression. 99% of the pro DP users out there are going to be on Macs, you're not going to last long around here acting like a jerk when people are trying to help. Your version of thanks for him solving the thread issue with a clever workaround was to bag on him for giving you the wrong key command.

Here's a clue, most of the time cross platform software that has an option-click on Mac is Alt-click on Windows. The other times it's Windows-Click. In fact there are so few buttons on either platforms keyboards that perform these common DAW functions that are different it's literally a matter of a minute of attempting variations before you stumble upon it. But yeah, acting like it's not a help because it's not entirely accurate is awesome, especially ignoring that he solve the problem you made the thread about! You already come across as one of those people who expect everyone else to solve their problems while doing minimal research yourself, don't expect to last long around here if that's the case.
