I had to use DP 8.02 in 32 bit mode for the 1st time in order to utilize Reason 3.0 in a old session file.
DP 8.02 ran terribly!
waveforms crapping out during screen draw, other waveforms take forever to render on the screen, crashes.
I got through the session but DP was very unstable.
All the sess file had in it was one drum VI, a few guitar tracks and reason re wire into dp.
I ran at buffer 1024 so there shouldn’t have been a problem.
Anyone else having issues with DP in 32 mode?
Also, does re wired work in 64 bit so that I can use old sess files with reason in 64 bit?

Do you really want to know the answer?toodamnhip wrote:Anyone else having issues with DP in 32 mode?

Does Reason 3.0 come in VST flavor? Maybe you could load the VST and use JBridgeM so you're running DP in 64 bit?

Re: DP 8.02 Terrible performance-32 bit?
I haven't needed J bridge because I have VE Pro, which I think is better.
I have the following questions:
1-Can I run Reason 3 INTO VE Pro?....(I will have to check that out)
2-If I just upgrade to Reason 6 will it work with DP in 64 bit mode? (Again, any info here would be appreciated or, I will have to check it out myself later).
3-Does Reason 6 translate Reason 3 sound set ups perfectly?
I must say I have been pretty darn happy with 8.02, like everyone else.
There is only one remaining stubborn sync issue with VE Pro that hasn't been handled and I don;t know who's fault this is?
I am really surprised at the thought of DP 8.02 taking a step backwards as far as 32 mode and 8.02.
In 8.01, 32 bit mode worked pretty well, although I transferred as often as possible and tried not to work too long in any old file before migrating to 64.
It seems that Reason and Ivory are the only problems in my whole set up that necessitate going back to 32 bit.
In yesterday's problem session, I DISCONNECTED Reason while doing vocals because there were enough guitar parts in the song to track vocals. EVen with Reason disconnected, (OFF), DP crashed and had weird screen redraw issue in 32 bit..
And audio drop outs too,bad ones, even at 1024 buffers. As if my drives suddenly could not keep up.
So I am wondering if other users have seen a worsening in performance with 8.02 when it comes to 32 bit, or, is it something special to the session file I had?
I could also try running DP 8.01 when going back to 32 bit to see if there are issues?
It was just in a session full of vocalists so I didn;t have time to goof around and try different solutions.
Another thing I will have to check now that I think of it, is the darn "realtime" options for plug ins. I have NEVER used DPs "power saving" "only when needed" plug in options as they seem to be a technology that makes things unstable. I will have to reexamine the session file to see if the prefs of that file somehow changed to any setting other than "realtime".
The saga continues...lol

Re: DP 8.02 Terrible performance-32 bit
So James, I notice you're on a 2.66 Macpro using 10.6.8. (same as one of my systems). Is that correct? I'm thinking of making the move to DP 8 soon. How would you rate the performance of DP8 compared to DP7 on your system? Think I should take the plunge?James Steele wrote:...I'm not...toodamnhip wrote:Anyone else having issues with DP in 32 mode?
