MIDI overdub record and auto takes

Post by knoob »

Hi

I would like do record a MIDI track in overdub mode, but i would like DP to automatically create a new take every time it starts from the beginning of the loop like it's shown here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-2pI-M8yZI

I'm doing everything like in the video but DP does not create new takes, it "just" overdub the first take...

Caveat: My experience is on the Mac platform, but I found this works recording audio files, not so for MIDI files. Too bad, as it's a great feature for solo work.

Others may know of the secret sauce for MIDI loop recording with take incrementing...

They can be changed with a shortcut.
Mac Mini Server i7 2.66 GHs/16 GB RAM / OSX 10.14 / DP 9.52
Tascam DM-24, MOTU Track 16, all Spectrasonics' stuff,
Vienna Instruments SUPER PACKAGE, Waves Mercury, slaved iMac and Mac Minis running VEP 7, etc.

Unfortunately it behaves differently than audio recording. I tried to check if being in "destructive record" affected this, but it doesn't. I did write to MOTU to ask them to implement this at some point in the future.

Agreed this would be a great enhancement, especially if they made it work just like the Audio loop take incrementing works.
