Hello, Motunation!
I recently became the owner of the product Audio Express. When you first use I did reset to factory settings and updated to the latest firmware from the official site MOTU. The problem is this: in a web browser, sound disappears and there is a high frequency noise. The noise disappears after turning off all programs that use audio interface driver and the opening panel MOTU Audio Console. Another problem is solved by restarting the interface. In other applications (Media Player, Cubase 5) the problem was not observed. Has anyone encountered similar problems?

Search this forum and/or Google for how to install the Legacy firewire IEEE 1394 driver, which is already included in the operating system if you have Windows 7.
Do so then enjoy.
If you're running it on USB instead, then make sure you're using a USB 2.0 port and not 3.0. Also, update the motherboard bios to latest. If you have multiple USB 2.0 ports, plug the MOTU into one away from the other stuff you have. For instance, rear and front ports. If all front ports are open and available, use one of those...or vice-versa.
