Hey friends,
It's been a while since I've posted. I'm wondering if someone can shed some light on some stranger behaviour I have noticed recently. I'm running 8.01 in 64 bit mode. Two instances of Mach V III, Slate digital drums, couple amplifier plugins, but really nothing major. My machine is listed below but it is an 8-core 3ghz, 16 gig ram, SSD hard drive for main drive, audio on separate drive, samples on a separate drive.
I have buffers at 1024 (using MOTU 828mkii). This current project I'm working seems bizarrely sensitive to changes - such as muting a drum squish aux. The whole project slugs with drops outs (CPU meter is fine) and then something goes a little funny with ADC requiring a quick start and restart to make it sound normal (not weird phasey).
Any thoughts?

Re: Sluggish behaviour
Check the drivers. Reinstall. REPAIR PERMISSIONS! A critical aspect of ML and MOTU audio drivers.
Have a drink (inside joke... someone else can explain).

Re: Sluggish behaviour
Check to see if your plugins are running in "real time mode" or "pre-gen mode" in the Audio Plugin Prefs. I never use that pre-gen mode. It causes the problems like you describe. Just a shot in the dark! hope it helps
